From the Canyons to the Prarie... in 50 miles... WOW !!!
?Where is everybody?
After Canyonlands & Arches Nt pk what could top that? Took UT hwy128E - scenic
byway up to grand junction CO & it was just as good as the parks. It was the valley
2/3 the way up right along the Colorado river on the west / left side & of course always have to stop &
wade in every river just for a few minutes. Colorado riv is a silt river & fast
10-12 mph brown muddy water flowing. didn't try to trout fish in this one. I
like the indian saying you never drink from the same stream twice; it really
defines life as you roll through it.
Geological changes take millenia and sometimes millions of years for faults and thrusts of the earths mantle to change. Then the erosion, water, wind... and you get scenic views of Buttes, Mesas, Canyons, Colorado River,... then break out into the rolling plains,... beyond description. To see them change in a drive, in 50 miles is like watching an earth timeline. This drive was not planned; this was a great day to see this. Utah is one of my favorite places... unique geology. thank you!
???Why is it that there is nobody else out here???
