MeadowLark campground. 8,500' Bighorn nat forest. chili. small snowpack on mtn across lake.. 38* clear . Lt breeze. Ponderosa / lodgepole tall pines, some douglas fir... mixed w/ pinyon pine juniper pine.
8;30 gonna fish-- maybe better than yesterday eve. ... caught 3 trout.. couple got away couple threw back. wind picked up 20 -25+...
12;30 onto hwy 16east. beautiful. Snowcaps / snowpack. Powder River Pass 9,666' . unique rock formations. Geologicly some of the oldest rock formations on earth. magnificently serene hiking around the snowpack.
Onto road & Hy Tack lake. fished 1.5 hr. 2 more Trout. wind picked up Again 25+ & fought wind /waves all day. .. both lakes.
onto 16 E big geological change from Bighorns to rolling WY mtn alpine pastures. into flatlands....
Buffalo, WY pop 3,900. 4,845'-- lowlands. spread out town . Indian campground. Trout supper. no fish taste... just good.
