Colorado National Monument
ITW 33 Colorado National Monument
Fruita, Colorado / Grand Junction, Colorado
Thursday June 10 2010
The Colorado National Monument is a 25+ mile drive along the rim of the Colorado Plateau, overlooking Grand Junction / Fruita. The geological change is stark by some sheer vertical cliff walls, dropoffs of 1,500+' ... onto the plains.
The Colorado River, brownish red silt color, fast moving,... runs right through the city.
The geological, historical, agricultural, cultural history of the Fremont people, and other Native American indians and pioneers into the West here is really interesting.
A really great drive .... A great day. Thank you!
