Clarksdale , Mississippi Crossroads

Bob Dylan
Highway 61 Revisited
Oh God said to Abraham, “Kill me a son”
Abe says, “Man, you must be puttin’ me on”
God say, “No.” Abe say, “What?”
God say, “You can do what you want Abe, but
The next time you see me comin’ you better run”
Well Abe says, “Where do you want this killin’ done?”
God says, “Out on Highway 61”

Thank you for those words Bob. The rest of the song is just as powerful.
I've stood out on highway 61 with Son Lee at the crossroads ...mid '90s. Was there in Clarksdale for a short time for work and stood at the Crossroads. Highway 61, hwy 49, hwy 278. Six years later... not on hwy 61... I lost that Son.
Clarksdale, MS is definitely the South.... Delta Blues. ...and after being here... I know why they sing the blues here. or the Blues came to life here. This was a depressing place to see for the 1st time. Maybe it was the winter season. It just looked dreary overcast, harvested cotton fields landscape was ugly brown turned / disc' soil... HUGE tractors / combines on the road. ... and several regional health system cancer centers.... ?Why? ... from the chemical crop dusters... from the diet? Don't know.
BB King was born not far from here... i think Indianola. Like many to escape this Blues place, ... to escape the hard life of cotton farmers / sharecroppers... they head up Highway 61 to Memphis... or points north. Go figure.
There are no pictures from the earlier time working here in the mid'90s; and just hit the Crossroads... like so many have before... and headed North on hwy 61 . ... lookin' for better.
Don't know exactly where this Journey will take me.... but will search and find out what's ahead.
