Craters of the Moon National Monument, between Carey, Idaho and Arco, ID

Watching the NASA space program from inception held my interest in flight and exploration through life.

At the apex of the Apollo program

wondered what the guys really felt / experienced when they walked on the surface of moon .... ?What would it really look like?

I think I know now.

Out in the middle of Idaho is this huge lava field and it is a spectacle to see. 100+ square miles of lava fields from volcanic activity... it was worth tthe days drive to the middle of nowhere to see this.
