drive dirt roads a few miles to Palisade Falls & hike up 1/2 mile. WOW worth the hike. 200ft falls. rock formations are amazing. rounded rock/dirt strata & above is igneous hex collumns just like at obsidian cliffs in yellowstone. got feet in stream from falls... melted snowpack. Hyalite peak is above 10,299'.

out Bozeman & up hwy 205 to missouri headwaters st pk. The Madison, Jefferson, & Gallatin rivers join & form the headwater of the Missouri river.... 2,300 mile+ ... longest river in US. stood where Lewis & Clark were 1st white explorers to see this place. understood their awe. MOSQUITOS ARE BAD... really BAD.... swarms... moved on

to Lewis & Clark caverns. stpk. 30 miles away past three forks MT. Mosquitos still bad. Beautiful Montana rolling hills. Jefferson river in valley. nice place except mosquitos. mosquitos even while in shower.
