Helena , Montana to Big Larch camp Lolo naT forest
After a R & R day at a motel / faifield inn at Helena... rested up and ready to Roll. Let's Blow this Taco Stand!
Hwy 12 west climbing out of helena , scenic overviews of mountains surrounding Helena at the base / valley floor.
McDonald Pass 6,320' elev. Lookout .. scenic view WOW !!! Road is known as = The French Womans Road. 1,800s Fench Lady served travelers on the road--- & she was found murdered.
Garnett Mountains.
Avon. Really Montana Ranches... Hwy 141 north
Hwy 200east... Trout fish,.... no bites... then wade / swim in Blockfoot River.
Right side is Bob Marshal Wilderness-- Largest nat wilderness in US ; goes onto Glacier nat pk 100 miles north.
Hwy 83 north 5 miles to Salmon Lake. onto Placid Lake.... onto Big Larch Lake / camp. lake grass thick, pass on fishing.
plenty of pine sprigs around . Big campfire. ... There is nothing bette than a campfire! I still gaze into a campfire as a 10th century viking.
some mosquitos-- gone from smoke.
