Big Larch to Missoula Montana

Big Larch camp, Lolo Nat forest to Missoula, Montana


Big Larch pine trees grow to be huge... 3' + trunks & 120' tall big craggly rough reddish brown pine bark.



48* cool / crisp am coffee. pure clean air.




Onto Salmon Lake. Natural glacier lake. Clearwater River runs down the valley feeding the chain of lakes ... Seeley Lake , then Placid Lake.... and runs / feeds into the Blackfoot River.




Stop and check out airport. 4,575' grass strip runway 16 / 34. small town general aviation ... a few local planes & visitors coming in for hunting / fishing guides.






Stop at station w/ big cow . Hwy 200 w to Missoula, Montana





Stop and Trout fish in the Blackfoot River.




also see "Postcard Blackfoot River" post ... Bright sun, 92* wind through canyon was 20 to 25. after fishing waded out to middle of stream. Middle of the summer & water is still cool.

Onto Millpost, Montana.







Lewis and clark stopped and camped here on their return trip back East.




On through Montana Ranch country. This is really Montana Beautiful at it's best.
