More downtown Trinidad
neat western historical pioneer town. Buildings / archatecture of 1890s is all around.
Fishers Peak is promenent overlooking the town. Las Animus county courthouse is a couple blocks north of the main drag. Also the Trinidad museum. ... and the old fort... now a state office bldg.
grabbed a bite downtown... local pizzaria... really good & the owner a good guy... came west a few years back and drove his stake in the ground for a small business; I like that!!! Guys that put it on the line... much like the pioneers that came through here on the Santa Fe trail.
Tile mural in the local Catholic hospital is world class art! Tells the history of Trinidad. Fishers Peak overlooks the town while the Purgatorie River runs through downtown.
This was the next main post down from Bents fort on the mountain pass of the Santa Fe trail... on into Raton. A neat town; glad i got to see this.
