Kalispell, MT to Yaak River

ITW 92

Thursday July 29, 2010

Kalispell, Montana -- this post picked up at Kootenai River-- halfway to Yaak River

also see Kalispell, MT to Kootenai River post for 1st leg of this day

Kootenai falls was something to see. Still heading west on MT hwy 2... a really picturesque drive through Montana country.

The Yaak River is a tributary... and here at the confluence of the Yaak and Kootenai Rivers, the Kootenai river will eventually flow to the Columbia River to the Pacific. This camp was quiet / tranquil listening to the water rushing... good sleep!

Fished some late evening. Wind blowing more than 15. no luck. Water is warmer than snowpack rivers so river shave / wash is not too cold.

This is about 5 miles from the Idaho state line. 1,820' elev is the Lowest point in Montana.
