Sometimes you get to see something really unique... it is a gift. To see living history, to see a B-17 start it's engines and taxi out... same way the guys in the 8th Air Force -- Army Air Corp-- did ... Leaving England, heading East across the channell,... feet dry into continental Europe,... not knowing if they'd ever see base, england... or even home again.... Great respect for those air crews that did an amazing job in these wonderful B-17 planes.
This is for Uncle Claude, .50 cal side gunner; 35 missions with the 8th Air Force/ 381st Bomber group ... and came home to America to raise a family. Thank you!!!
And thank you Liberty Belle folks for keeping this history flying! That P-40 and B-17 are great to see flying again!
